The first week of April was “no joke” in the Rochester, Minnesota area housing market. The number of new listings and sold listings were exactly equal to the same time period a year ago, with pending listings up a full third year over year.
There were 68 new residential listings between March 30 and April 5, 2012 with an average asking price of $181,047. The 59 homes that went under contract last week had an average market time of just 63 days and an average list price of $172,614.
There were 38 closings last week with an average selling price of $180,181 (97.9% of the asking price, 94.1% of the original list price). These homes averaged 111 days on the market from listing to signed contract.
There are currently 832 active listings in Rochester, Minnesota with an average price of $212,290 and an average market time of 134 days.
