New listings in the Rochester area real estate market remained steady at a reduced level last week (August 27 to September 2) with just 27 listings coming on the market, down from 40 a year ago. Sales were down from last year with 27 homes going under contract last week, compared to 34 last year. The average price for the new listings was $176,518 and the average listing price of the pended homes sales was $189,414. With the kids back in school and the Labor Day holiday behind us, we are looking forward to increased activity in the weeks ahead.
There are currently 1,140 active listings in Rochester averaging 182 days on the market. The average listing price is currently $223,026($169,900 median).
